Walking confidently toward a bright future!

So, I am getting back into my usual schedule, which means I can get more things done for the game. I have been doing a mix of writing and picture hunting for the new section of the main quest I am currently working on. The introduction to this part of the quest got a little too long winded, and I hope I'll manage to cut it down a bit (not being a native english speaker still causes me troubles, from time to time, and it seems to me like I should be able to trim the dialogue down).

I have most of the pictures I need for the NPCs and the rooms involved in this quest, but I should probably get a few more before I am done with it. I think the mechanics I came up with for this quest will be very fun, I just hope things don't get too out of hands and I end up wasting too much time just because I want to keep adding stuff. XD This quest will also be peculiar because you can actually refuse to do the "quest" part, since the offer falls in a bit of a grey area, morality wise. If you refuse, you'll be offered a different deal (maybe even more sinister, in a way) and if you refuse that one too... Well, you'll have to make sure you do a good job with the rest of the main quest. :P

I also have a list of stuff I need to work on after this quest (I want to introduce some minor differences here and there for having low MR, I need to add a couple of NPCs, I should probably work on adding some meaningful interaction with the house you can buy). Since I failed the December deadline I had set for myself, I might as well work on giving some extra spark to the game, before a new release. There are probably more plans I have in mind, but I can't remember them right now (I should peek at my notes :P).

And now, give us a round of applause for the return of your favourite "most useless thing anime related" done by men, the anime intro/review combo of the week! Today we'll talk about Monster, by Naoki Urasawa (who is the author of the manga, actually, but hey, the anime is an adaptation... And I just read the manga without watching the anime, as usual... Don't judge me!).

*insert smart commentary here*

Monster is quite the dark tale. It's about a brain surgeon who saves the life of a kid, who turns out to be a terrible "monster" (also, he saved his life by choosing to operate on the kid over operating a prominent politician, if I remember correctly, so his career got screwed as a reward). I don't want to say more, because I feel it would spoil the plot, which is very intricate but engaging, so I'll just say that you are in for a tale of death and pain, and even if some "anime shenanigans" are there, it's a very serious plot, and it does a decent job at avoiding any faux pas and disrupting the suspension of disbelief (at least, it worked for me XD).

Well, this should be it, guys! Let me know if I forgot something, and feel free to ask me questions about anything, really (sometimes, I am not sure how informative my posts actually are, so if you feel the need for some clarification, just ask away... Although if I deem the answer too spoiler-y, I might keep it to myself anyway. ;p). Until next time. ^_^

"This video is not available in your country." ;__; (Also, all my proxies failed on the retries, lol.) Sadness. Probably didn't have a girl in yellow in it anyway, hmpf.

    1. There were actually billions upon billions of girls in yellow, but you'll never be able to see them. ;p

Objection! My google-fu can't find any results for hopon, you are clearly lying! XD XD XD

    2. I object to your objection! :P http://isenbergondomains.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/objections.jpg

Hopon (phonetic spelling) is very similar to Chapssaltteok which in turn is very similar to a Mochi. :D Yay!

      Regarding your first point:
      :O
      *Keels over and dies...*
      Spirit voice: You're cold-blooded. You're the one who put me onto the whole "girl in yellow" in the first place. Giveth and taken away... ;__;

    3. Yeah, Hopon is totally the same thing as Mochi... I guess. >_<

Girls in yellow for the win! XD XD XD

  2. Is that possible to see Celeste in a domina role? This might need to add someone in sub role since Piper become equal to Celeste.

    1. Unfortunately, I doubt that's going to happen. I'd have to rewrite the plot completely, throw away my plans for chapter 2, and probably add/change/tweak mechanics throghout the game for it to be a sensible option. Also, I am a sub at heart, so I am not confident I could write a dominant character well. It's really hard to allow for such an option when I am this far in the development. :(

    2. Just one or few scenes with Celeste as a domina. You don't need to touch the plot.

    3. Yes and no. The whole plot revolves around Celeste being slowly enslaved, so it's a bit hard to make dominant scenes fit with the rest of the game. I could easily add 1 or two scenes like that if I used the "it's all a dream" excuse, or maybe within a VR module, but other than that, I'd probably have a few problems. I guess we'll see.

    1. Glad to know you are enjoying it! ^_^

So far I am almost done with the main mechanic for the new quest (I like "coding" in RAGS, even if I am actually terrible at it XD), although I still need to work out some kinks. Then I'll have to add some scenes and more puzzles/choices to wrap it up. Hopefully you'll like the latest additions as well, once I am done with them. :)

    2. Again I wanted to compliment you on the game. This rags game I could totally see as a PS4 game or a PC game with full on animations and graphics. The sex stuff is hot, the store is good and the quests are pretty fun.

I think my favorite quest so far was the one were you gotta track down the hacker. I really hope to see that Dragon Cult flushed out sometime.

Anyway thanks again for all your hard work!

    3. Well, I don't know if the idea would be good enough to make a proper game out of it, but thanks for you kind words. ^_^

I should probably have a side-quest for Dragon Guild members, in the next update, so hopefully you'll like it. :)

  4. New main quest content? Hooray! I've really been enjoying the game so far, I've been curious to see just how shocking the cliffhanger between episodes I and II is going to be :)

Making good use of the house could be a lot of work, unless you're just planning the occasional party - which there's nothing wrong with, of course ;) What are your plans... and what are your plans to keep your plans from going over the top?

Also, Monster is an amazing series! Great choice. Just like modern TV series are usually much grittier, deeper and psychologically involving than big budget movies, this one grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go until the end of episode 74 (!). Even the final credits keep you on your toes :D

    1. I have several ideas for the house: some scenes tied to who you are romancing, maybe one or two small quests could get tied to you owning the house, and maybe some repeatable actions: maybe you could organize parties and get some money out of it, every once in a while (I assume partying on a moon station would still be cool, even in the future), and probably some "minor" actions I'll have to think about, some involving your crew members.

I am really bad at keeping things from going over the top, I always end up adding more and more stuff, but I should be able to avoid problems with this one, since I consider the house to be low priority right now (no matter what content I plan for it, it would be all secondary stuff), so I am not going to sink too much time into it, at least in the near future.

  5. Just read this and I am so absolutely excited! I can't wait to see how you expand on this project (in your own time) :) I hope there will be some ways of regaining some of the mind so you can lose it even further and deeper over time, riding that edge, but whatever you do it will rock as always, I'm sure :D

    1. Wooooo will you be able to keep both girly romance options? They would be so sweet together!

*poly want a cracker? of course poly want a cracker*

    2. The hype! The hype! I'll never live up to it! :p

I think I added one or two ways to regain mental resistance, so there is that. I don't know if they would be enough to "ride the edge", though. ^_^

There are no plans to allow pursuing two romances at the same time (well, you can try, but the attempt ends pretty quickly, if you do. Also, there is no way you can go for it with the two girls on board, it can only happen with one of them AND Malena), it would be a little too much work, and I am terribly lazy (romances have already grown way beyond what I planned at first, and with the whole "ALICE is trying to brainwash me", I believe one girlfriend is already busy enough for Celeste).
