Settling the (musical) score

So, I finished adding the various scenes I was planning for each romance (I decided to go with 4 scenes per love interest), and I keep banging my head against the wall as far as what song to use for the ending. I might have to just use one song, instead of two as I had planned, but we'll see. I have also started to slowly put together the list of items I should export for chapter 2. There were a few easy ones, but it's still hard to decide whether it's worth it for some of them (exporting the matching ring if you bought it for your girlfriend seems like a no brainer, but would I be better off flat out always including Darenzia's gift? I mean, it's not super meaningful, so tracking it seems superfluous).

I have started doing some work on the "party" event I was planning for the house, but it's really early stages right now, so nothing to really talk about (Darenzia is the one who'll organize the party, though, I can say that much).

I don't think I have much else on my plate right now, so, until next week! ^_^

  1. Have you considered combining the 2 songs into a single file? Audacity is a good free audio editing tool.

    1. Yes, I thought about it, but the problems are different reading times and no pause/fade options in RAGS. The reason to have 2 tracks is of course to switch between them when there is a mood shift, but unless I script out the entire ending to run on a timer (which would force me to remove all interactions so that player can't interrupt the scene and not use the "pause" command, as that would mess up the timing), fusing the the two tracks doesn't help me (if I did all that I probably wouldn't need to merge the songs anyway).

I don't like using the timer for several reasons, including the inability to pause it midway, so players might miss images and text. It's also not too great, presentation wise, so I don't really consider it an option.

It's just a limit in how RAGS works, it's almost never an issue, because it's such a particular case, but for the ending it came up, and I am not sure if I can do it gracefully, so I might have to give up.
