Did I mention my exam? No?

Well, I had an exam this week (it was a disaster... But I still passed! Yay me, I guess?), and as you can imagine, that didn't affect my efforts for the game positively. I still got something done, though! I added 2 more NPCs to Verania (which should pretty much cover my every need for that planet), and I started working on Jane's side quest (I did most of the picture hunting, and started adding the introduction to the quest. I have the basic idea now, which is always useful).

The plan for the future is just finish this quest, and that's about it, nothing too fancy.

With this poorly written, not very informative status update out of the way, let's move forward to the most important part of the post: the anime video of the week! *applause*

This time, I go for something which is probably as obscure as Daitarn 3 outside of Italy and Japan: Little Pollon! As with Daitarn 3, I didn't manage to find a video for it in english, so you'll get another italian version:

It was another hilarious, crazy anime from the "Good Old Days". The main character was a little girl called Pollon, daughter of the greek god Apollo, and her (seemingly) infinite quest for godhood. It satirized the greek gods in the funniest ways (Poseidon, god of the sea, couldn't swim, for example), and was overall weird, but incredibly funny. Pollon went around trying to help people (and failing miserably), often by using a magical powder (the italian dubbing basically made it sound like cocaine: "It looks like talc, but it isn't, it makes you happy! If you smell it or breath it in, it makes you happy!").

I don't know if you guys can possibly find it anywhere if you want to give it a go, but I thought I would share this one, because I love it, and because the nostalgia compels me!

This wraps up another uninteresting week! Until next time!

  2. Cute.

Also "say yes to ancient greek drugs" is quite a tag.
Recently found a Rags game called "Overseer". Seems interesting, but I think I'm going to go pass out first--it was a long day.

    1. Oh yeah! I wanted to give a shoutout to Alako (because well, you know, points up). I also tried your game some time back. =D

      Apologies for the double-post.

    2. Overseer has a lot of great moments. I feel that some of the gameplay choices were purposefully annoying and that you don't have as much freedom asI would like when you deal with the management aspect of the game (which is a big deal in it, so I was a bit disappointed), but overall it's a really good game.

Feel free to pass out, and don't worry about the double-post, this isn't this huge blog with hundred of comments, I think we can handle a few double-posts just fine! ;)

  3. Awesome to hear you did well, I flunked my exams in 2011, still regretted that. Well hope a public release is made soon.

    1. I am a lousy student, overall, but I hope I can improve on that (running in circles can get boring, after a while, and I should really put some more effort in my career, but I put all my skill points in lazy, so...), I have already lost so much time.

A public release isn't around the corner, but hopefully this summer I should get around it.

    2. Wait are you from the US? Because, I'm from Australia, well born in Aus, I'm korean. Its just that our education system is a little different here.

    3. Hey now, maybe mdqp just suffers from a very sexy learning disability. ;)

And don't worry, once you reach cap for the lazy attribute you can upgrade to the prestigious rank of full pledged couchmaster, or perhaps you could add some ranks into the douché and sellout skills and get a career as a youtube lets-player!

    4. To Paul Hong: I am from Italy, which is probably yet another different system, so it's hard to make comparisons. I am a med student, and that's already a bit unusual compared to the rest, even in the same country.

To Anonymous: Uhm, lazy youtube lets-player? Sounds like a plan! :D

    5. Plans?! Bah, it sounds like too much work..

Considering Groucho avatar, ITA localisation, all the little clues and ofcourse the ever encroaching amount of Italian anime, I'm somewhat surprised to hear that you are not in fact from Eastern Zimbabwe.

Then again, maybe you're just trying to put us off trail!

And please "Anonymous" sounds so formal, just call me A-Money.

    6. Ok thanks for clearing that up.

    7. @ Paul Hong: You are welcome (although I don't if I actually cleared anything at all, I kept everything pretty vague, didn't I? ^_^).

@ A-money: This is all a clever ruse and I am actually from Alpha centauri, of course. :P
