Again, a late post...

...And I am really sorry about it. I have been really busy last week (I was one of the election officials this time around, and I had an exam, so not a lot I could do about it), and I have started only recently to work on the game again. On the plus side, the quest is really close to being complete (I just have to decide if I should keep an optional path open or not, and then write the final scenes). Once I finish it, I'll have to test it myself, and then send it to the testers for the first time. Then I have a huge lists of things to do, I'll just have to pick one and see where it goes... :)

Next I am tempted to do some minor stuff (mini-quests, random scenes, etc.), so that I can finish it in small bursts, without having to worry about the overarching plot or anything too complicated, but there is nothing certain yet. Next week I'll probably be more sure about where things are going after this.

Is it just me, or am I being a bit repetitive, because I am making little to no progress, so I end up talking about the same stuff over and over again???

Well, let's not dwell too much on my shortcoming as a blogger, I am sure nothing good would come out of it... ^_^

  1. To quote a dear writer: "Silence propagates itself, and the longer talk has been suspended, the more difficult it is to find anything to say."

So to say keep chugging along, keep talking to us and keep making magic mdqp,
even if only some of us take the time to reply - most of us are appreciative of your work...
(some are just assholes - but hey you can't get wheat without the chaff :))

    1. So far, I have been incredibly lucky, and I seem to have attracted a lot of good people, but no bad apples at all.

I just don't want to bore you all to death. ;p

I should definitely start to write about games with an MC-theme, as I said many times already. It would at least give people something to read, even if it isn't about my game. I just never seem to find myself struck with the will to really start writing the post, so I end up delaying it month after month...

    2. Well as far as I can see you can use either of these fool proof plans:
      1) Employ a vast army of ragtag minions a'la fenoxo to post in your stead, though you likely need to grow to support such measures.

      2) Join the lulcat of the month club and then post said pictures, sure to kill dead air.

      3) Use that doom's day mc device we all know you've got stashed somewhere AND make US believe you can blog! :D

And don't worry even in best apples one can find a worm. ;)

    3. Unfortunately, if I had a doomsday MC device, I would be tempted to use it on myself and... I AM THE GREATEST BLOGGER EVER!!! :D :D :D

  2. I like hearing that you're still thinking about it at least. KZ

    1. I probably think about it more than I should! ;)

I have loads of notes for stuff I come up with while doing completely different things, and more often than not, if I play a video game, I'll catch myself thinking "I should definitely add something like that in my game".

My only problem is that I like planning, I should focus on trimming down the list, before making it longer! :D

  3. Definitely keep posting. Even if you only say 'I couldn't do much this week because of x' it keeps us in the loop, lets us know you're alive and haven't abandoned the project, etc.

Worst case scenario you spend two minutes typing up a quick impersonal diary of your busy week, best case scenario you find some inspiration!

    1. I am always going to write something, because this is the only way to let you guys know what's going on.

As a player, there is nothing more dreadful than a prolonged silence from an author, as it leaves you wondering just what the hell is going on, and I would like to avoid it, now that I am on other side of the fence, so to speak.

For instance I recently laughed my ass off during the merc side mission so keep it up buddy!

Out of curiousity, which picture are you referring to?

  5. maybe you could also recommend/review some other MC themed games and where we can find them.

    1. That's what I wanted to do, sort of, but instead of focusing on games where the MC-theme is the main one (there are too few of them, and you can probably see them all by just browsing the hypnopics collective and the TFgames forums), I wanted to talk about mainstream games with MC elements in them. I wrote a post about one of these games a while ago, but then I never got around to start writing more posts about other games. I should really do it, but I just can't seem to get around actually doing it... -_-
