Progress In Work

 So, last week I dedicated a couple of days to TOTDC 2 and the rest went into working on chapter 6. Specifically, I started writing the final sequence, since I have a decent idea on how it should play out (there is still more content needed, but I wanted to tackle this now that I have a good grasp on what I want to show). I wrote some dialogues, designed the final fight, and started testing out a few things for the final cutscene before the ending. The final fight is going to be its own thing, completely isolated from regular combat. Some people might dislike this, but I wanted something unique, which fits with the lore, and ties up a couple of details I disseminated earlier in the game, so hopefully I will be forgiven. XD

I am considering giving the encounter a slight puzzle-y feeling, and I have been trying out various skills for both the enemy and you, to see what could work for that. I still need to work out some details, though. Hopefully it works out, but there is already a framework, so this is just to make it more interesting when the fight lands.

As for the final cutscene, I think I found the look I was going for, but I am missing something for the background, which is annoying. Well, worse case scenario I'll just commission it from Stan, but it would be kind of a waste, I think (I need a sea of clouds from a top-down perspective).

For next week, it's more chapter 6 work (finishing and polishing some of the stuff above), then I'll either write more scenes or add more content for chapter 6, depending on where my inspiration is leaning.

March Update

 March is here and so is another update! The ever increasing demand for smut and lewds are putting a strain on society, and as a developer, it's my job to make sure everyone has access to basic necessities such as adult games of the highest quality*.

Miscellaneous Stuff ™

So, I did a bit of everything this week. First, I did some writing for the walkthrough. We are still missing one quest, but I got the big one out of the way, at least. I did some more work on chapter 6 (some writing, some coding, some planning, mostly focused on Erica's escape plans, so to speak). I added the chance for your boss at the Imperial Offices (Mr. Geralt) to get you pregnant, as well as the option to settle down with him (although he won't marry you) if you want to see his "what if?" ending.

I also did some work on TOTDC 2, although it was mostly technical stuff: I figured out how to use videos, because I thought that would be the best way to have an animated spiral in the game (because of course we need those XD), and how to set its opacity if I want to overlay it on top of the images (it's slightly more bothersome than I'd hoped for, since you need a second video to do that, even if it's a fixed opacity that you want), and I finally solved an issue with how I was placing certain elements of the UI when reading your personal profiles (you can check your profile and that of your crew, like you could in TOTDC 1).

I did take one day off, because I am feeling a little tired (I am still trying to improve the puzzle I mentioned last week, and trying to force a solution is probably what's boiling my precious brain cells).

Anyway, more of the same is probably on the menu for next week. I'll try to add a few scenes so you guys get something tangible in the release, I'll work some more on chapter 6, and maybe I'll have a day or two for TOTDC2, or for the walkthrough/H-scenes or whatever else needs to be done. As for the release, I'd actually like to get it out for the 21st, but it should be fine even if I delay it a day or two, so it should be out for the 23rd at the latest.

March Marches Forward!

 So, here we are with a new month! Patrons should be looking forward to the poll and the art preview tomorrow or the day after that at the latest. For now, however, let's talk about what I did last week.

As mentioned before, I did more work on Chapter 6. I have been working on some dialogues and some puzzles as well. I am taking care of both paths here and there, trying to keep a good pace going. One puzzle did have me stumped for a while, though, and I am still trying to figure out if it would be fun or not. Maybe I'll have to scrap it, as it involves a mix of exploration and then choosing options, which might be not ideal, given the limited environment this puzzle takes place in. Other content went fine, however, so all in all I made good progress.

I also added a new scene with Ronald, the married guy you can meet at the pub (if you get drunk). This will be the first scene that allows him to get you pregnant (although that part isn't in the game yet, but the functionality should be easy to add, with the new scene).

I have been going through the questlog to find quests which could use more CGs. I think the biggest culprit is the quest you can get early on with one of the Kairos brothers. It's a pervy quest, and yet it doesn't have any unique CGs, I think, so I'll probably add at least a couple of them to it. I'll keep doing this every now and then (I already have a couple of ideas for other quests), but as I always mention, if you have any suggestions, they are welcome.

I don't think there is anything else to mention at this point. I didn't work on the walkthrough or the H-scenes list yet, because of the puzzle I got stumped on and the scene for Ronald, but I can probably get around to it this week. Until next time! ^_^
