Rahib, if you took part in the poll), a new scene with Gabriel
(cheerleader content) and I started planning stuff out for the Golden
Leaf quest.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>The general idea is to have a lot of small branches in
the quest based on your previous actions as the countess (who's your
guard captain, if you impressed the other nobles during the party, and
so on and so forth) in the context of an emergency of some sorts in
Golden Leaf (trying to keep the surprise, so I'll avoid more specific
details). I have the general idea for what should affect it and how, but
I still have some doubts over the moment to moment gameplay (if I want
more "regular" adventuring stuff in between the reactions and choices).
This might need some new maps depending on what I end up doing, but it
shouldn't be a huge effort in that sense.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Other than this stuff, I did some miscellaneous tasks,
like handling the new art I got from Stan checking if I could perform a
couple of QoL improvements or bugfixes related to third-party scripts
(which didn't go anywhere, as I realized it might take too long to be a
good time investment), some minor maps adjustments, fixing the animation
for the Djinni encounter (which actually didn't play before), and
probably something else I can't remember.</span></span></p>
<span><span>More of the same should be the focus next week, although
I'll try to prioritize the magic academy, as I try to finish most/all of

more (the mountain which houses the second temple, the minotaur village
and more has been improved now). I am considering adding some extras
(some items or gold you can find), but visually it's all done, although
it will need testing to know if something broke.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I also worked on the walkthrough, adding some
sub-sections to the magic academy entry, giving some details to the
cheerleading content and how to reach it, and finally adding one more
quest guide (I think the quest list is one entry behind at this point).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I have also been trying to figure out an elusive bug with
the new Outcasts' quest (it seems that sometimes the game doesn't track
properly how many paintings you have inspected). I still can't figure
out why, but I have a "brute-force" fix that should make sure things
work, no matter what.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>My plans for the rest of the month are to start working
on the last Golden Leaf quest (won't be finished this month), finish the
cheerleading content (and possibly the magic academy) write some scenes
I have in my plans already and then figure it out from there.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I guess we'll also have the art preview and polls hit soon on Patreon,
as usual. I'd like to find some time to work on TOTDC 2, but we'll see

No? Oh well, sorry, it actually slipped my mind. Anyway, for the weekly
recap, I worked on the cheerleading content this time. I extended the
events more, made sure you can't date the captain and bang his teammates
at the same time (it kind of didn't make sense to me), added one scene
for the "captain" and "team" paths, as well as tweaked some other behind
the scenes stuff (also, I might be wrong but I think the first scene
with one of the teammates actually didn't trigger properly before).</span></span>
</p><p><span><span>I also fixed a couple of bugs, changed how the random
encounter with the drunkard in Tarkas works (now you can refuse even if
you are an exhibitionist, assuming you have enough willpower), moved the
reset option for the orc village path at the end of the path itself,
and I worked on some other miscellaneous stuff I am sure I am
forgetting.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>The focus at this point should just be more scenes, and
then release this weekend on saturday or sunday, depending on when I
finish/testing gets wrapped up (hopefully there won't be need to rush
things as with the last update). There were a few more things I was
hoping to get ready for the release, but things got shuffled around as
they often do, so those might have to wait until next month.</span></span></p>

</p><p><span><span>Other than that, I finally finished the chess
"mini-quest". There is now a way to become good enough to beat the
general at the castle. Speaking of which, I also gave Nimedes some
random conversations you can have with him if you visit his room (I felt
like we needed some basic interactions with the guy). I might add some
other content related to him, but that's not for this month. Anyway,
beating the general comes with a reward, so it won't be just for the
sake of it (just don't expect a huge profit).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I also fixed a few bugs and typos, but we should be good without a hotfix.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Coming up next are more sexy scenes and mini-quests to be
included in the game, as I try to finish more paths and include content

bug (I am on the lookout for more, in case a hotfix would be required)
and did some work for the next few art commissions (I re-organized my
stash of references for Stan, found new ones and picked what images will
go with what I'll write this week and so on).</span></span>
</p><p><span><span>For the short term, I have plans for a couple of sexy
scenes (from the last two polls), writing a short quest to have Janet
and Karen (Golden Leaf blacksmith) work on a little something together,
work on improvements for some of the old maps, update the walkthrough,
plan some stuff for Golden Leaf's final quest and a few more
miscellaneous tasks.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>We should also get the patrons-only Art preview and the next poll this week, as per usual.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>As for the long term, I think we are getting close to
finishing the game, honestly. The list of small stuff is still long, but
Golden Leaf's final quest should be the last "big project" that we
really need in Caliross.</span></span></p>

previously. Most of the gameplay is finished, but I need to write some
dialogues/ending and whatnot. Plus, I still need to figure out what I
want to change for the different paths (I have two possible starts,
depending on whether or not you got stuck with Marintas's charm). The
core should be the same, but I wanted a couple of differences in there.</span></span>
</p><p><span><span>I also wrote a new scene with Gabriel, so cheerleaders
who are into him can get some action with him. I also fixed a bug with
his scenes (new saves could trigger all scenes at once, which caused
other problems as well) and changed a little his path, so you can refuse
him when he asks if you want to start dating.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I got covid again, but I am not doing TOO bad. I don't
think I lost too much time over the weekend, but we'll see if I need to
delay the release a tiny bit.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Speaking of which, I should get the game to the testers
this weekend. For this week I'll try to write the scenes I mentioned
last time (so orc village and Marjorie), finish the quest, and then I'll
get working on anything that might be included to the update.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Release date should be monday at the earliest, but let's
say wednsday just to be safe. That, as they say, is it. I don't think I
am forgetting something, but if I am we'll blame it on me being sick.

not much different from 2023, I suppose. As far as the game goes, I have
been fixing bugs, and working on the Outcasts' quest. I think I should
be able to finish it this month (I have done most of the puzzle design
at this point, minus the finale), so I'll focus my efforts on that one.
We should also be getting the end to Marjorie's path and the orc village
(they should both need only 1 scene each).</span></span>
</p><p><span><span>There will be more sexiness added for sure, but those are
going to be the main focus. I *think* the next release will be 2 weeks
from now, give or take, but as always I'll be flexible if needs be.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>As for the short term, we should soon get the usual patrons-only
art preview and polls for the month. I am also considering another
hotfix, but this isn't as urgent as the previous one (there is a
softlock, but it's kind of rare and easy to workaround), so I might just
wait for the actual release.</span></span></p>

be her second to last scene on the submissive path). It's a bit more
"romantic" as far as Marjorie's standards go, so if you are a big fan

<p><span><span> I also wrote another exhibitionist scene for the red
dress (I might actually cap this at two scenes, to avoid it ballooning
out of proportions). I like it, but I might have to touch it up a little
bit before the final release, especially if I decide to limit the dress
to two scenes, as I might have to make them more "repeatable".</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Finally, I kept working on the Orc village new content.
There is more writing than I originally envisioned (since it has some
minor interactivity), so I am trying to trim it down a little, before I
can write a scene to wrap it all up in a nice bow.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Also, you'll have noticed I decided to not release a
hotfix for the accidental trigger to the Outcasts' quest, however, I
made sure to put in the game a "rollback" for it (just entering the
world map should reset things properly), so that players who got in the
map can simply leave and keep playing as normal.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I'd like to release the next update this friday/saturday,
so I started doing some early testing for the new content, and tomorrow
I'll hopefully send the update to the testers, while I keep working on
whatever I can add at this point.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>The last week of the year will be mostly holidays, so no
sense in trying to work during that time, but of course I'll still be
around for bug reports/fixes, as I can't stand to leave them around for

This week I got a tiny bit sidetracked doing
map improvements. The Golden Cup pub got some minor touches, did some
further work on maps for the Outcasts quest and I remade the "Two
needles" mountain entrance area, although I am not sure if I'll make
this last one accessible until I improve all the maps of the mountain.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Speaking of the Outcast quests and access, I believe I
accidentally added the intro to the quest and access to the incomplete
maps with the hotfix. I am not sure whether or not I should release an
update just to stop that (since the content is blatantly unfinished),
but know that I am considering it (let me know in the comments if the
intro triggered for you).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Anyway, other than map work, I did some writing for the
orc village (it's not finished yet, but you'll go on a little trip to
Tarkas to find more girls for the village), and I wrote 2 new full
scenes (one for the cheerleading "but I like drooling after the team"
path, and one for the new content with Sole and Luna).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I didn't get around to update the walkthrough yet, but I
guess that's something I can do this week, together with finishing the
orc village new content and then something for Marjorie. That's the very
basic stuff I expect to tackle in the coming days, and I'll try to

time to talk about my plans for next month. So far, I fixed a visual
glitch, added a toggle in the debug tools for those who want to switch
between Jin and Lea, and I started working again on the final Outcasts
quest. Still mapping, for now, but I should move to writing and gameplay
soon. Once again, I am not sure if I can push to finish it this month,
or if I'll just do more work in preparation for the next, so I can
finally put everything together, but I'll probably work on it this whole
week, at minimum.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Another thing I'll definitely work on this month is the
Orc village, and that should be easier to complete. After that, I'll try
to complete some stuff in the academy (the Marjorie sub path isn't
missing much, for example). More detailed plans will have to wait until I
know for sure if I can focus on the quest this month or not.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I think that's about it for now. As usual, the holidays
will probably slow things down a bit, either for this release or the

Last week was terrible for progress. I underestimated how much time it would take me to edit some sprites for the costume party. I had to at least have Erica, Sole and
Luna to wear some special outfits, and also I needed some custom
graphics for one puzzle, which I ended up tweaking and re-tweaking for
hours, as I kept changing some details about the puzzle itself. I ran
into more issues than I was expecting while doing my own preliminary
testing, and the same was true when I gave a second look to the
dialogues for the new scenes. I pretty much didn't get anything new
done, but at least I managed to wrap everything up before the weekend,
since I wasn't going to be home on saturday and sunday as I mentioned in
the previous post.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>On the plus side, testing and polishing went really well
today, as I got a bunch of feedback and reports, and I chewed through
them, already implementing some improvements, beyond simply fixing
bugs. Still, I think I'll delay the release at least 2-3 days, no sense
in hurrying things up when I got derailed this badly, and I'd rather
try to prepare some more content before release, instead.</span></span></p>

Sorry for the delay,
the post slipped my mind yesterday. Last week I worked on a scene with
Sole and Luna, a party in your house in Rahib (also tied to the twin

scene with Marjorie. </span></span>
</p><p><span><span>This took me a bit longer than expected, because the
Marjorie content also has a tiny bit of gameplay (which took me time to
figure out) and the twins stuff also was more involved than I

little. Currently, I should prepare a test version by friday, and the
release should be either on monday or tuesday. Since I am not going to
be at home on saturday and sunday, I won't be able to take care of
bugfixing on those days, which is also another reason why I am

mentioned before. I made decent progress planning things out, and I
started working on the maps for it. It still needs significant work,
though, so as I mentioned I won't be focusing on it for the rest of the
month.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Since I was working with maps, I also improved some of
the old ones (specifically, the outdoors maps for Tarkas's countryside).
Now they look nicer, and they don't have the ugly black nothingness
around them anymore (keep an eye out for potential bugs, since the
process *can* cause some issues if I miss something). I also added a
couple of minor secrets, because the area is quite large overall, so
having a few small rewards seems right (those will be low impact, since
it's an area of the game you can stumble upon early on).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Finally, I fixed a couple of bugs, and added to the
schedule the option to stay/return home (which I think makes a lot of
sense). I wonder if I should add the option to go to the farm as well
(it's a bit complicated, because of how that path functions, but maybe
it's worthwhile).</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Coming up this week, we should have a Marjorie scene, a
customed party in our house in Rahib (probably tied to Sole and Luna),
and then I might actually work on more Rahib-related stuff, since it's
been a while and there are a couple of characters which need a tiny bit
more content. Either that or more content for the magic academy, as
finishing that one is still the top priority.</span></span></p>

I did some of the stuff I was
planning to tackle, but not all of it, because some of the scenes I
wrote took me some more time than I expected.</span></span>
</p><p><span><span>Now there is a sexy outfit exhibitionists can get as a
gift, if they use the crack in the wall of the baths to give the men a
show. Wearing this will unlock some exhibitionist only content. I am not
sure if I want to allow some minor "free roaming" or if I should just
write a sequence of scenes. for now, we just get a scene when trying the
outfit for the first time, so it's fully "on-rail".</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Next I wrote another scene for the cheerleading stuff.
The path is still a slow burner, especially since we have to establish
the scenario, and I am trying to give the girls some time to show their
personality everytime, but we should be getting close to the sexy
(optional) stuff.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Finally, it was one more Marjorie's scene. This too is
finally getting to the fun stuff, so the next batch of scenes should hit
the sexy-o-meter pretty hard.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I didn't get to write more reactive dialogue as I was
hoping to, so that and MORE scenes should be on the table this week.
I'll try to get a test version out soon-ish, as I'd like to release on
friday this week.</span></span></p>

Other than that , I also wrote a new scene with Jiro, as mentioned last week.</p><div class="sc-fotOHu boWsAQ"><div class="sc-1sp3zau-0 fYcGch sc-d4f3hw-0 bRmCMD"><div class="sc-1ye87qi-0 eskKQs"><p>Next I'll try to do more on "the small dialogues" side of things, while I assess what's unfinished in the academy and try to take care of as many paths/events there as well. I'll have to figure out what's a good point for Charles, Eloise and Marjorie, then move to the cheerleading stuff, at least that's the general plan.</p><p>I'll probably plan the final quest for the Outcasts while I am at it, since that too has to be tackled (next month, if everything goes well). After that's done, we should be close to completion, I think. There is a bunch of small stuff I could do, but I'll have to start cutting the list short.</p><p>I am not sure if I should cut a final quest for Golden Leaf I had in mind for a while. It's probably a bit too late for that one, Caliross took WAY longer than it should have, after all. Maybe I should consider a future expansion for the game, assuming there is any interest for that sort of extra content years from now (VX Ace is old as an engine, so it's hard to think about how much attention, if any, such a project could bring).</p><p>Anyway, enough of me looking past this month, I have more work to do here and now! <p><span><span>As mentioned in the release post on Patreon, I didn't work on
Caliross for a couple of days, but now we are back at it. This week, I
think I'll take care of a bunch of smaller things. I want one more scene
with Jiro (so we can wrap up the werewolf path), I added the
"alpha-in-training" variant for the ending already, so the new scene
should be everything I need for the path.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Other things I want to add include pregnancies with a few
characters (one of them would be Jiro, for example), write some more
dialogues that reference/react to what the players have done (if you are
picked by the emperor, the other girls should have something more to
say about it), and much more. If you have suggestions along those lines
(like, events/choices which should trigger more newspaper or reactions
from specific NPCs), direct them my way!</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>After this week, I should try to wrap up as many things
as possible in the magic academy, so I'll have to write a few more
scenes, for sure. After that I'll try to figure out what I can do with
the time I have left, and then the release should be around the corner.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>A hotfix might be coming soon as well (there a couple of
bugs I fixed, and one is kind of nasty, so I want it in soon), and since
I'll be working on small upgrades, I should be able to push it whenever
I please without interfering with the development.</span></span></p>
