Another day, another quest

I finished working on the quest (minus the testing, but it shouldn't take too long), and I also added another dream (it was needed, since the main quest was was expanded, but I hadn't done it so far). I hope it's not too short, but I can always add something to expand it later on.

I'll have to see what minor stuff I can work on, before moving on to improve relationship/dating (mainly, I should add a few more scenes to Malena, and I should introduce Piper among the ranks of love interests within the game).

Then it will be a closed beta, then I'll see if things are good enough for a public release, or if I should add more before it.

And now for the video of the week! Today, we have Great teacher Onizuka (AKA GTO)!

I want my toilet to do exactly the same sound

What can I say about it? It's the story of a former punk, now "reformed" school teacher, and the way he copes with the various misadventures that happen to him. He wanted to become a teacher for all the wrong reasons, but in the end his heart is in the right place, and he ends up doing the right things. The anime is always over the top, but the gags and even the serious bits work pretty well. It plays a lot of tropes very straight, but I believe the humour manages to keep things interesting, despite the plot and characters' arcs being a bit predictable. All in all, it gets my seal of approval without any problems.

This should be it for this week, guys, until next time!

  1. Ah GTO, now there are some memories. Did you know there was actually a manga before GTO that featured Onizuka during his punk days? It was actually just as good too.

    1. I knew about the manga, but I never read it. It might be worth giving it a look, then! :)

  2. YAY possible release at last and just before the start of my holiday break.

    1. Well, a closed beta isn't too far away, but the public release might need a bit more time (as I said, it depends on how the content looks like, if it's enough or not, if it feels like there are some areas that feel under-developed, if it needs some improvements, etc.).

Still, it's at least within reach, I think. ^_^

  3. Well, MDQP... I found the game I confused with yours.

    It was Instinct Program. xD

PS: You should tell me what you thought of Kino no Tabi.

    1. Yeah, I thought that might be the case. :)

Unfortunately, I haven't seen it yet (I have been distracted by a couple of new videogames, lately, so I haven't really done anything else, other than working on the game, of course). I'll let you know what I think of it as soon as I watch it! :D

    2. Video games? What are those?

GTO is cool but it's been a week, man! People need their weird and vague anime intro fix!

Since my upper back was tweaked in boxing--I didn't find out until later and it bloody hell hurts!--I propose a challenge. I, and all the other people in the interwebs, of course, would like to see an anime opening that features boxing as part of its contents. ;) Preferably, and I know this is a stretch, with a girl in yellow. ;p

    3. Yeah, it was a typo: "video games" aren't a real thing, of course. :P

Sorry, I really suck at keeping an orderly schedule with the blog (and the game development, for that matter).

Sorry, I didn't read this until after I picked my anime for this week, so you'll have to wait another 7 days!

Somehow I have the impression you want me to talk about a specific anime, your description seems suspiciously detailed... XD

  4. How can I be part of the closed beta testers?

    1. Well, as far as "official" testers go, I don't have any need for more people right now (things might change, but so far there are enough persons to test the game properly).

I usually offer the possibility to play the closed betas to any donors which want to do that, as a thank you, but honestly that might be a nice bonus if you were already planning to make a donation, I don't think it would be money well spent, otherwise (I mean, the game is free, and the closed betas are buggier than the public release, so I doubt it would be a good investment).
