A wild closed beta appears!

Finished the last sidequest, and done with the basic testing by myself, I sent the closed beta to my trusted testers... Bugs are already being fixed (I hate it how I keep making the same dumb mistakes over and over again... But I hate it also when I make new, creative mistakes, so I guess I just don't like mistakes in general), suggestions are starting to appear, and I am already planning some more stuff.

Usually, I work on minor things after a closed beta, so that I don't need to interrupt big projects halfway to fix a bug (bug reports have this uncanny ability to reach me whenever I start working on something new), and this time is no different. I am going to add a follow up to Gellon side-quest, if you managed to let him know his partner was stealing money from him (this should have been in the game a long time ago), some more random scenes during space travels, stuff like that.

Maybe something more should end up in the game, before I make this release, but it's kind of late in this development cycle, so I am conflicted about starting something big, like a new planet for the main quest... Maybe another side-quest or the beginning of Piper's romance could be possible targets, or maybe I am just going to be "fuck that" and make an early release, so that I don't have to worry about it going against my plans for a release in the first two weeks of December... I am not sure what's best for the game, I guess, that's why I keep changing my mind on this.

Anyway, I think that all in all things are going good, if I am worrying about these things, because it means that there is already something to look forward to, and I am just worrying about making a good relase, not if I will do it or not. :D

    1. That was the original idea. Now that I believe I have enough content, it should be much easier to pace myself. Even if I decide to add more, the worst thing that can happen is that I can't finish it in time, so I simply release the current content, and "hide" the unfinished stuff. Unless something unpredictable happens, there will be a release before christmas.

  2. Ciao!

Exciting news, I start to wonder where do you get all that time, and if you would be so willing to share some amongst other mortals who have to deal with uni, games, series... and... Better start to work in my game again hehe

    Great news once again :)

    1. You know, I just avoid taking responsability, and study as little as humanly possible... ;p

Some days I just work on the game, and when I do I usually get a load of stuff done... I think I am just stubborn, really, I want to see this done no matter what, it's actually the thing I find most interesting right now, it keeps me busy thinking on a number of levels at the same time, it's something I enjoy a lot, overall.

  3. Do a release. That way you can crunch all the bugs and whatnot that your CB testers didn't get. :P
Then start working on major stuff.
Don't forget to do 'content updates' on the blog.

    1. Hey, the reason I have testers is so that you can't find bugs! :D :D :D

I should do another quest, the minor stuff, some polishing, and this should be ready to take off... It won't be an horribly long wait, so bear with me! ;) (I won't forget to write about what's going on, don't worry :D).

    1. Just a week or two, and it probably won't be so "closed" anymore... ;p

  5. Oh god, please release it, we are so addicted... but on the other side... more stuff is more stuff.

You are a cruel soul for teasing us this much :) Shame on you ;)

Good! Crave for more, give me power over your feeble minds!

      Just kidding. ;)

I would prefere to add even more to the game before doing a release, but I decided it was better to wrap things up before the holidays, so I can take a break and also plan more carefully what to add next, so I won't be as slow as this time around (I really wasted too much time on the relationships, all things considered, but adding a new system is always a bitch to do).

In a sense, you got lucky, otherwise who knows when I was going to make a public release?! :p :p :p
